The Tokoro ruins

These truly ancient ruins date back to the Jomon Era (pre-historic Japan) and were in use up to the time of Ainu culture. This area has the highest number of pit dwellings in Japan. There is “Isekino Yakata” (The mansion of ruins) and “Maizobunkazai Center DOKIDOKI (Buried Cultural Assets Center DOKIDOKI)” where you can see artifacts from the historical site called “Isekino Mori” (The forest of ruins). |
