Outline

Misato cave was formed naturally by rain water eroding the limestone. It was the first limestone cave ruin to be found in Hokkaido. Due to the artifacts excavated here and based upon analysis of the physical environment, we believe that it was not a permanent dwelling but that it was instead a temporary home used by hunters.
